5 Key Ministries of the Holy Spirit

  1. Walk according to the Spirit.
    1. Follow daily.
  2. Set your mind on the things of the Spirit.
    1. The sin is not in being tempted. The sin is in succumbing to the temptation.
    2. If you walk down the street, and see a picture of a beautiful woman, you are naturally inclined to see her and appreciate her, but we train our eyes to “bounce” away, so as to maintain a pure thought life.
  3. Put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit.
    1. A fight is required to use their will to say no to sin.
  4. Be led by the Spirit.
    1. Get used to hearing the still, small voice within saying “stop” or “go”.
    2. Measure it against Scripture.
    3. It’s like a dance (ballroom). Learn the lessons in private.
  5. Know the Fatherhood of God by the Spirit.
    1. Ignore what the world says about us.
    2. Listen to our Heavenly Dad.

This week:

  • Pastor Garey got me and Fiona to do a reading of Romans 8 to the church. We alternated verses.
  • I’m back on the wagon! Attained 110.3 kg this week (an average loss of 1 kg per week). Attended gym twice and boot-camp once this week.
  • Attended Manukau Armageddon (#Manugeddon) on Saturday. Bought a Superman (“Last Son of Kyrpton”) t-shirt, a signed photo of Christopher Judge and a signed photo of David Nykl (Dr Radik Zelinka from Stargate Atlantis). Hamish spent over $300 there. Got some very cool stuff. As he says, “I have a job and no expenses”.) ç The best time of life.
  • At Toastmasters (which I had not originally intended to attend) I made up an impromptu speech about Manugeddon. It was well received. Numbers were down. I got to speak, even though it was not my turn.
  • Attended a work training day on Agile/Scrum/TFS. How to use TFS to maintain your Agile DevOps project.
  • Started to convert my work project (CMOS) to my TFS Online account.
  • Started to write an Agenda page for my MCBC Toastmasters Club web site.
