Saturday Afternoon 2

Pastor Graham (from Auckland)
Where is the Lord God of our ancestors?
It’s like we’ve gone astray
We want to tap into our inheritance
Re-dig the wells today
Give us a heart for the land, the lost
Broken dreams restored

Standing in Identity
Gideon
Jesus
Myself (pastor Graham)
My passion is to connect people with the heart of God.
Rick lead me into spiritual life 29 years ago
Rick is like the salt of the city
There comes a time in the journey of every man, when his spiritual father no longer feeds him.  It’s time to grow up and move on.
With the same grace that we receive, we are called to minister
It’s no good just quoting the scriptures; you’ve also gotta live the life.

Gideon
Had a mind-set, “I’ll never be an achiever”
Judges Chapter 6
Identity comes from who God says we are
If you look to man to form your identity, there will come a time when you have bad days; which will send you into a tail spin.
He lived under 7 years of oppression
It’s alright to be afraid

Jesus
Mark 1:10
3 things happened at this baptism
The heavens were torn
The holy spirit came down like a dove
an audible voice said, “this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased”
The temptations attacked his identity, “if you are the son of God…”
He comes out of the desert in power
John 18:1-6 The Garden of Gethsemane
“I am He”
When Jesus declared His identity, it released Kingdom power

Graham
Recognise the inner core lies
Nobody had condemned him, but he felt it
Declared against the devil
Released the dark cloud; received a word of life for that church
Scripture says, “wherever two or three come together into agreement, there the Lord releases power”
The reverse is probably true “where I am (silently) in agreement with the lies that the devil says about me, there I release death”
Some of us need to break unhealthy relationships/friendships
If you put loyalty above the Word of God, that’s idolatry
Acts 17:28 “For in him we life and move and have our being” (identity?)
