Friends,

A friend suggested we pray for Sue Bradford. Let’s do that.

It sounds like Sue Bradford and others are using every tactic they can in what they perceive to be a good cause.  They do see themselves as protecting weaker members of society and as championing a just cause. In the name of their cause they may be resorting to tactics that are less than honourable.  However we need to remember not to join in and have any slanging match; our God has called us to repay evil and insult with blessing, to bless those who curse us and to pray for those who mistreat us.

So will you join with me in praying blessing on Sue Bradford?

Lord, we thank you for the freedom we have in this country to worship you and to have different points of view and different ideas of how to deal with problems and find solutions.  Lord we are in disagreement with Sue Bradford about how to solve the dreadful problem of child abuse in this country.  We bind ourselves to your will, your love and your desires.  We pray your richest blessing on Sue Bradford and her friends. We pray blessing of good health, happiness and peace.  We ask you to call her into your kingdom and we bind her to your will, your love and your desires.  You are mighty, Lord, and we honour and worship you. Give us strength and wisdom to do your will, give us love and compassion for Sue and her friends.  Let us be like Jesus in her life.  Let us speak humbly and with love to all we meet.  Let the power of your Spirit move hearts where argument fails.  Let everything we do please you Lord. Give us strength and energy to do the job you have called us to do. In Jesus’ name we pray.

1 Peter 3:9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
Matthew 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
